Meet Michelle Hutchinson
Michelle’s voracious appetite for reading appeared at the age of four. She believes everyone has a story to tell or important information to share and wants to make sure your readers understand and connect with your message.
An experienced editor, published writer, and dedicated resume preparer, Michelle has contributed to Smart Ideas magazine, Feathered Quill Book Reviews, and many other publications. As a former officer in the U.S. Navy, she has a special place in her heart for military personnel transitioning to civilian life and serves as a resume writer for Military Resumes. Michelle has a knack for translating military jargon into civilian terms that catch the attention of hiring managers.
She has also reinvented herself during several careers and helped others do the same, so she can prepare resumes and cover letters that open doors to interviews for anyone.
Her work has appeared in national magazines, local newspapers, military publications, and professional health care journals. As an editor, she has worked extensively with award-winning novelists, educators, students, non-profit organizations, and business owners.
Michelle received her bachelor’s degree (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from Clark University, her master’s and doctoral degrees (magna cum laude) from Harvard, and her teaching certification from Georgia State University. She is board certified in public health by the National Board of Public Health Examiners.
Before launching Wordhelper, Michelle enjoyed stints as a dentist, U.S. Navy officer, biology professor, high school teacher in brick-and-mortar and online classrooms, environmental researcher, hematology lab technician, and operations director of a fitness company.
In addition to reading, she enjoys word games, volunteering in her community, and participating in fitness classes like Zumba, indoor cycling, and step aerobics.
